DIRECTIONS - NEW STUDENTS
- Complete each of the steps below as appropriate.
- Action items are in red font - you MUST complete all action items.
- See one of the room attendants if you have any problems at all.
- Please be patient if you need to wait to be helped.
STEP 1
READ This Important Laptop Information
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for loss and/or any damage not covered by the warranty - Be VERY CAREFUL with this expensive laptop and accessories.
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for any damage others may cause to the laptop you are assigned.
- YOU ARE REQUIRED to report any laptop damage or incidents to the Help Desk as soon as possible.
- DO NOT remove any SCHOOL stickers from the laptop.
- DO NOT put any PERSONAL stickers on your school laptop.
- Coaches, directors, and sponsors of HS extra-curricular activities will provide secure locations for students to store the school laptop both at school and at away locations.
- Policies and documents: You do not need to read these now but know that they can be found online here:
- Go to Step 2.

View at least ONE of these short DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP videos NOW, and the rest sometime soon.
- Go to Step 3.
STEP 3
Get to know the GRCHS HELP DESK
1. What is the Help Desk?

- A place to go to get help with any technology questions or concerns.
- A place to bring your school-issued laptop to if you have any repairs, damage or incidents to report.
2. Where is the Help Desk located?

- In the Learning Commons (second floor overlooking the Town Square)
3. Who staffs the Help Desk?
-
- Mr. McKellar with help from the student interns.
4. When is the Help Desk open?
-
- Each day school is in session
- 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM

Click the link below to find out about your Professional school GRCHS Gmail account:
- Go to Step 5.
STEP 6
FINISH UP
- Quit* all open applications, and shut down** the laptop.
- REMEMBER to take all the pieces with your school laptop and your password sheet home with you.

*To quit application on a MacBook Air, click the name of the application in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, and click on Quit... in the drop-down menu.
**To shut down a MacBook Air, click on the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, and click on Shut Down... in the drop-down menu.
