Uploading files/resources in Moodle

One of the most common things you're likely to want to do in Moodle is to upload a file, perhaps you have a presentation or other file you'd like students to have access to. Moodle makes is very easy to upload and manage files. Each course has it's own files area, which you (the teacher) can structure and upload content into.

Watch this short video to find out how to upload a file, then try for yourself:

You may find that there is a file size restriction on what you can upload. The server administrator will have set this up, usually to prevent the server becoming full of large files. The restriction may also be in place to save on bandwidth, if you upload a large file, then this means a student must also download a large file and your students may not have as good a network connection as you have.

To make your course as easy for students to use, you should always make your files as small as you can and present the files in a generic format, for example, by using a PDF rather than Word or PowerPoint.
