KENT INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT - HISTORY OF LEADERSHIP

ISD MapIntermediate school districts were created in Michigan as a result of the 1962 Constitutional Convention. There are 57 intermediate school districts in Michigan which cover the 83 counties in the state. Kent ISD is the fourth largest ISD in Michigan and the largest outside of the Detroit metro area. We are governed by a five-member board elected by our twenty constituent district school boards. Board members serve six-year terms. Kent ISD’s primary mission is to serve the public and parochial school districts and children of the Kent ISD area.
